Man Has To Teach Penguin How To Swim

It's easy for humans to give up on things. If a person doesn't want to and don't have to do something, they can just as easily move on and  work towards something else. It's not as easy, though, for animals. They don't have a ton of options when it comes to what they do or do not have to learn.
Charlotte the penguin was a peculiar animal. She, unlike all of her brothers and sisters growing up in the Birdland Park and Gardens in Gloucestershire, hated swimming. She would watch everyone else swim, but only get so far as dipping her toes in the water and walking away.

She was the first female penguin to be born in England in nine years, so they knew that they had to take great care of her. Eventually her handler Alistair knew he had to help Charlotte out, and took her out to swim with him. It took some time, but Charlotte eventually overcame her aqua-phobia and is now a healthy swimmer.
